Heat Above is a genre-blending trio from just outside Flint, Michigan, crafting emotionally charged rock built to move people — on their feet and in their feelings. With provocative lyrics, infectious melodies, and a magnetic stage presence, the band has carved out a distinct space in the Michigan music scene and beyond.

Formed in 2021, the group — Brady Lott (vocals/guitar), Jack Davis (bass), and Jalon Swinton (drums) — is building a loyal following through dynamic performances at venues like The Crofoot, The Machine Shop, and The Blind Pig. Describing their sound as melancholy dream rock, their sound flows effortlessly between high-energy rock, punk urgency, danceable grooves, and introspective moments.

In 2023, Heat Above released their debut album, Tell Me How to Feel, which has since surpassed 600,000 streams. That same year, they opened for Charlotte Sands, Yam Haus, and Josh Abbott Band, further cementing their reputation as a band to watch.

In 2024, they were selected to showcase at the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) in Pittsburgh, leading to university shows across the country including stops in Kansas, Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Alongside their university touring schedule, they’ve performed at music festivals in Michigan and Illinois and completed a residency at Cedar Point. The band also co-headlined the historic Capitol Theatre in Flint — sharing the stage legacy of acts like The Ramones, Ray Charles, and Rage Against the Machine.

Looking ahead to 2025, Heat Above has already released two new singles and plans to continue rolling out new music throughout the year. With momentum building and a growing catalog of emotionally immersive songs, the band remains committed to delivering unforgettable live performances and offering listeners a thought-provoking escape through their music.
